Anyone know of a direct mount offset chainring to fit Shimano 12 speed cranks that changes a 172mm q factor crank with 52mm chainline to 55-57mm?
you could try flipping the chainring over.
i bought a 104 bcd spider from aliexpress for my 55mm chainline shimano crank to reduce the chainline. one of those may also work with the ring mounted outboard.
out of interest, what frame is this going on?
i contacted a lot of the chain ring makers about chainrings that could alter the chainline on shimano cranks. no one had anything to offer and no plans to produce them.
You can't alter the chain line with Shimano cranks by altering the chainring. You'll need a new crankset.
I have some 55mm chainline SLX 7120 cranks (no ring) for sale (165mm I think) which have done 20 miles. DM me if your interested
Blackspire DM snaggletooth chainring puts chainline 1mm inboard to 51mm or can be flipped for 55mm chainline, it's made to run both ways. It says so on the website if you need confirmation, I own a couple so can verify.
So you can alter the chainline on Shimano cranks and you'll not need a new crankset 😀
I used one of these https://www.aliexpress.com/i/1005004143735780.html and some chainring spacers.
Thanks everyone! That Blackspire was the kind of thing I was hoping for.
There was a Pivot 429 on ebay last night. I lost out bidding, not that I particularly needed it. But looking at the specs it would take quite narrow cranks but wanted a wider chainline for the superboost rear end. I'm not a fan of wider cranks on account of knee problems.

Good to see there's an aftermarket solution for this. Nice find @noeffsgiven
