You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I'm going away and have found a site with local routes in GPX format, only problem is I won't have web access while I'm away (I've already downloaded the GPX files). I have a Garmin Edge 200 but the map viewing on that is crap so I'd like to be able to view it on either my iphone (6, latest ios) or laptop (currently windows 8.1 but downloading 10 as I type).
I've been googling/searching the forum but can't find anything that seems suitable, preferably free.
Any suggestions?
For Windows, Garmin Basecamp. You can download it for free. It works fine for viewing GPX files, and transferring stuff to and from the Edge.
Note as standard Basecamp includes a not very detailed world map. Its more useful if you get a better map. You can download OpenStreetMap based maps here, they include an installer for Basecamp: http://garmin.openstreetmap.nl/
Thanks, I'm downloading it now. I'll see what the maps are like, don't need super detailed, anything is better than the blank screen on the edge 200. Looks like there's also a version for the phone so downloading that too
For Iphone - Galileo Offline Maps.

Used it to assist bike nav through France and Belgium. Uses Open Street Maps for free (obviously!) and handles GPX very well, plotting them on screen in any colour.
