That's super stuff!
Sub 60 is sub 60....

I found it a really fun event actually!

We should get another in the calendar!

Wednesday crit was just two of us so we discussed power (more what I could actually manage compared to Aaron B!) and then road round together sprinting each lap - was a lot of fun

I would have been on yesterday's but have caught a cold & been feeling a bit crappy.
Didn't seem to affect me too much on Tuesday, but felt quite grotty yesterday.

Hopefully will be able to join more of these going forwards!

I enjoyed it as well. Turns out a group ride was actually what I needed rather than a race :D.

I did notice some odd bits while signing onto that event. I'm not in the STW club as there are limited slots and being in team I think it fairer to leave the slot free. In the companion app I could not see the event at all (until I joined it another way). On ZP I could see the event (though Tuesdays events did not show on there). From the ZP entry I could sign up using the 'Join at zwift.com link'. After joining that way the event appeared in the companion as 'event starting in...' however if I clicked to view the event then the companion app crashed!

I have put Tuesdays festive gathering into the calendar if anyone is interested in leading the ride? 60 minutes of sprints around Neokyo. I know it repeats last weeks but a lot of people didn’t do that so think it would be good.

https://www.zwift.com/events/view/2541277

Also a Sunday social ride starting at 9am for those of you who want a lie in!

After ~3 years on Zwift, I only discovered this week that you can start a route and do multiple workouts to save it one ride.

I was only combining an ERG warmup and two lots of Emily's Short Mix with my FTP lowered to very easy Z1, the frequent changes of effort in the 85-115W range helped make the time go by slightly quicker.

I've signed up for both, though not sure I'll make either as I've booster jab on Sunday morning and a very early start Wednesday. We'll see though, might make s bit of each.

My experience of the booster was pretty positive!

Booster on Monday evening - smashed my Alpe record by 8 minutes on Tuesday evening easily getting in under the hour. Then yesterday lunchtime I did a British Cycling TT event, came 3rd overall, won the B cat and averaged 338w for 23 minutes with a new FTP of 324w (from 304w) in the process. So it appears my booster was spiked with EPO and now I am going to get fatter over xmas and completely nullify myself for the next race series

Mine will mainly be interfering with Sunday hills by virtue of being at 10.30am. given the current state of my fitness I don't think it could possibly have anything but a positive impact on my performance even if, rather than EPO, I'm dosed with Ebola.

Tomorrow night is the festive sprint session. Feel free to join and pass it on to your friends.

https://www.zwift.com/events/view/2541277

That will likely be the last event before Xmas. Attendance is pretty low so hopefully we can get things back together for the New Year.

I also had my booster on Sunday. I had a rough night with a fever after it and still a bit ropey today. A ramp test tomorrow might sort me out…

The weather forecast looks pretty dismal from Xmas onwards so back to the virtual world I go…

Sprinters playground tonight - we will take it easy between the sprints an always regroup so if you dont want to contest the sprints feel free to do as you please. I will try and lead it and let you know when they are coming up! As it is a new route im not that familiar - perhaps an opportunity for some to get a route badge as well?

I think I’ll give it a try tonight. I’ll make my excuse and say I’m still feeling bit ropey from my booster the other day.

So, see how goes.

Based on last week, the sprints come thick and fast! Only just had my tea so I'll cruise through the sprints for the 1st half lap or so.

Would anyone like to lead a ride on Tuesday evening at 7pm or 7:30pm? I can’t do it but thought it would be good to get the first event in the calendar. Open to the ride leader to decide what sort of ride and course!

Sounds good - I need to get in some longer rides. BUT - during the day is not gonna happen, unfortunately.
I think the only way I can fit in longer rides is to get up early at the weekend and get some miles under my belt....

Is it a possibility to late start an organised stw club ride?
What time would the 2hr ride begin? I might be able to join in if it starts after 9am but before 11am.

I think i'd start it at about 10-1030... if that works?

I would generally aim for 65% FTP for a steady 90 min session, with a warm up and cool down after...

I can make a workout detailing such, and we can all do the same workout together with elastic band on?

Any suggestions for a table for a laptop when using Zwift? Preferably something reasonably cheap!

I bought the Planet X trainer table a couple of months back. It's not exactly cheap but it is well made for the price and has plenty of space to load up with stuff.
I bought it while reduced by £20.

Well all, I made the hard decision this morning to keep off Zwift and the bike for the next 2 to 3 months until I get the heart back in working order. Even though I've not been on any recent STW races or meet ups I've been trying to get some form of cycling still in my life but recent easy turbo spins are causing me quite a bit of fatigue, plus I probably need to give the heart some rest rather than pushing it when it's not ready.
A new change of meds and another procedure at the end of February will hopefully get me back in a better place (the last one didn't work!).

So Zwift subscription on hold for now. Planning for an April return when I will definitely be joining you back on the Sunday hills, although probably slower!!. Have fun all and keep up the banter!

Does anyone know if it's possible to take individual workouts from the Zwift training plans and complete them?
I was looking to follow the Build Me Up plan very loosely but it appears that the only way you can do the specified workouts is to follow the full 12 week plan.

Am I missing something?

Just done my next TDZ stage. Bloody TV switched off and the Apple TV disconnected half way through. It all came back on after a couple of minutes and I'd lost 100 places.

The companion app never sync'd with the game throughout though. It sometimes use slow to do so, but it didn't at all this time. What dictates whether it sync's or not? I'd signed on to the event through the app about half an hour before.

So I’m quite new to this Zwifting lark- been doing 1-2 sessions a week this winter and looking to increase fitness before spring. Regular rides/ races might just make me get on the turbo on nights I don’t fancy it.

How does the club thing work (I can’t see it on the companion app- is that because I haven’t had the special handshake?), and is there still any space- I saw there was a 100 member limit on page 1, then skipped to the end!

There is still space and every user on Zwift should now have access...but Zwift havent really rolled it out very well so its use is limited at the moment. With no notification it relies on people cehcking when an event is up etc. The good news is they are working on a lot of features as per the below. Once this is sorted then it should be a good asset but until that stage it isnt really useable. Other club members cant even create events at the moment. Hopefully this will all get sorted soon though and we can start to make better use of it (especially as I know @DrP wants to start workout club!).

Interesting update there Robbo .. thanks for moving me up the echelons of the club, but still can’t make events! Oh well…
I think until the ‘group workout’ bit is fixed, and the elastic band works, doing a group workout in free ride just won’t work.

Will be nice to be able to make group events though..hills, sprints etc were great fun!

Will watch this space..

Oh..anyone looking to get fitter and faster on zwift via a training plan, have a look at my thread about starting the “build me up” plan on Monday 7th Feb!

Should anyone be so inclined there's a meet-up in the club or here.

Sunday hills! https://www.zwift.com/events/view/2810876

8.31 start (because it's traditional!)
Climber's gambit
it's set for double distance but I'm really not sure how that will work, hopefully out and back... (I know two laps would be out, back, out and finally back again and that feels like a bit too much!)
Late start is on though I guess I'm probably in the minority thinking 8.30 is early.
