Anyone heading to Blandford this Sunday? Not been to one of these before but I get the impression they are pretty informal and fun races.

Is it a very technical lap, or more fire road pedal mashing?

Hi there, I'll be there with a colleague from work. We did the last round (round 5) and it was a hoot. The lap starts with a mass lead out down a tarmac driveway,(plenty of speed humps to hop over) before turning onto a rough farm track (long gentle climb). That thins the field a little. Then it's some pretty fast singletrack through the woods (very slippery last time) and a few more open field edge bits before more singletrack, finishing the lap with a downward blast over a few roots and into the bombhole. It's not wildly technical (although scrambling for grip in the mud last time added a technical element to the proceedings). It's three laps, I clocked 16 miles, but the organisers reckon its a 4.8 mile lap? Good mix of ages and abilities, plenty of opportunities to pass (I started just about last, finished 22nd). Good fun, only £8 so what's not to like?! Probably be muddy given the last few days rain, and a showery day Sunday.
