As title, off to Afan mid week and planning on doing W2 on Thursday.
Anyone ridden it this weekend? What the conditions like?
Probably set off and ride up the Wall, stop for a snack at Glyncorrwg and then back up Whites.
Any tips or trick to watch out for?

Was there a week ago - W2 was bone dry, Skyline 'on the edge' section was under 1ft of snow. Really bad up there but you wouldn't have known it from the rest of the trails.

We went to Brechfa as well - having done that I really didn't like Afan on reflection. Only the final wall decent was any good by comparison.

@Gee
Brechfa was that good huh?
How far from Afan is it?
By the sounds of it it's better to do Afan first?

Brechfa is about 45mins further down the M4. Well worth it. 25 miles of trails, really fast and jumpy. I found Afan just really boring - massive uphill followed by a trail that looked like it had been built by emptying a lorry load of loose rocks and repeat... That said its still worth doing - one day there, one day at Brechfa.

one day there, one day at Brechfa.

Just back from both! The current changes at Afan, while necessary, aren't making it the best riding spot. The new climb isn't as much fun as the old one out of the Ponds, and the final DH is a little meh. Energy is still ace, though! As is Graveyard on Y Wal. Rode soooo well yesterday! Oh, and the 4x course at Afan Lodge is a hoot!

Really fun. Quite hilly but some really great sections. Challenging because of gradient/tight turns/big berms rather than just huge piles of rocks.
