Anyone know / have a gps for a gravel type route from Bowland (north end of Saler Fell road) into Southern Lakes? I had a quick look at OS map and didn't see anything obvious)

thanks

For the first section you could go through Roeburndale, then past the windmills and down to the A683 at Claughton. That's a really good section.

But then you'd probably need to head northeast to Hornby, which is on a crappy A road, and cross the Lune at Gressingham. Then head to Borwick and across towards Warton. Once at Warton you can link together a few trails up through Silverdale, Arnside way, and that'll spit you out near Milnthorpe. And you are almost there then. From Levens there's a really good trail heading west. Depends where you want to end up.

Why not head North East from your start point to Ingleton then crack on up Kingsdale and over to Dent and Sedbergh before crossing the M6 and into S. Lakes? Much of it will be on tarmac, but there are quite a few little bits of off road that can be linked in. Should be nice on a gravel bike.
