Anyone done this? Good, bad, recommendations?
Mrs Stoner did a training holiday out there years ago prior to a XXX race. The off road riding was pretty good apparently. It was organised through Club La Santa though. She enjoyed it.

I think Peter Poddy went on one? Might have been Tennerife, google isn't helping though.
If you want some winter sun, mountainbiking and access to beaches you could do worse than an uplift holiday with Switchbacks in Malaga.
Go and see Gavin at Evolution bikes and tell him I sent you. He will sort you out.
Thanks folks! Holiday is already booked in Costa Teguise with a roadie crew but I may need to escape for some thrills so Evolution looks perfect - thanks MTB-Idle.
thisisnotaspoon - Switchbacks would be my absolute favourite choice but in Bubion (Malaga? You trying to kill me?! 😉 )
I went to Malaga, I broke my arm.
But it's not that bad, infact I'd say Bubion is the more technical of the two, the difference is Bubion has big rocks to pick a line through, Malaga has speed and a loose sandy surface which makes it difficult.
I was in Costa Teguise at the back end of 2014, I hired a bike from Evolution and went on a 1/2 day guided off road ride with Mick from BuenoBike, cracking day, really good trails and good crack.
Definitely recommend it.
You could manage Bubion nae bother 😆
Think I hired a bike from Gavin when I was there - v helpful bloke. I was staying further along the coast and did a couple of rides in the mountains to the south - puerto Calero - playa Blanca - Fermes, that area. Looked on gpsies for routes. Amazing landscape - although hot as fk!
Was quite a nice day out, the terrain is weirdly grippy on the volcanic rock... it moves about a lot, but is grippy as hell...
Trekster - did Bubion about a year ago - is now my most favourite place to ride 🙂
I have done that stage race organised by La Santa then went out with some dudes who knew the trails day after can't give anymore or better info that what peeps said here apart from you need to find the lava/ash descents, they are amazing like deep snow arse right off the edge of the seat :-). Some tasty climbs there too I did an off road climb up the tabayesco, enjoy.
