I got a set of Rockshox revalation RLT forks in 29er flavour last month. Over the weekend I decided to change the air pressure in them as I felt they were a touch firm.

So I let the air out and went to fit the shock pump on the positive chamber valve but it wouldnt screw on. Tried the negative valve and it fits fine. Tried another shock pump on it, same problem. Measuring the thread diameter with a caliper shows the top valve dia is about 0.8mm smaller than the bottom valve.

The condition of the threads are fine as I can screw the dustcaps on and off OK, presumably the shock pump threads have a finer tolerance.

Anyone else had this, I havent heard of this issue before.

Strange one that, mass produced items though so if the tooling is slightly out/worn etc you'll get different tolerances, sure if you returned it on warranty the top cap would be replaced. 😀

No, I got these from Canada in the summer which further complicates things.

Which they would just send me a top cap rather than send the entire fork off for however long.
