Not seen a cracked through BB shell before, let alone like this.
2013 Rocky Mountain Element 50, now being ridden by a friends 10yo.
Is this likely just ham fisted wrenching as I can't see that the BB would be a particularly stressed part on an XS sized frame.

It's hard to see because the chainrings and finger are in the way, but it looks to me like there's a lot of welding around the BB shell where all the different parts of the frame are joined. That would be my first suspect for the cause of the cracking. Not sure how similar it is to this one.
Edit. Posted wrong picture first time.

Hmm, still not working for me, either clicking or pasting the link into the address bar. I get a B&W no entry sign.

That is odd. tinyurl'd google photos work in chrome and opera, but not edge, firefox or epic.

Certainly looks like a crack. Driveside unsupported BB, drivetrain tension, extruded BB shell...

FWIW, on a thick section like that, that’s loaded in fatigue (and broken already), running a TIG bead on it to fix it will probably be solid.

It’s failed on fatigue not UTS and fatigue strength isn’t affected by heat treatment.

How is the driveside cup fairing?

driveside cup was fine on removal.
Appreciate the input.
Rocky wanted $600 for a replacement front triangle. Welding it is!
