Have dug up an old Sram 8speed groupset to try and rebuild a PBS on the cheap. The frame it's going onto is a 73mm frame, the old one was 68mm.

The old one is a BB ES-25 118x68. Didn't know if I could get a 73mm option but it appears you can, but there seems to be 2 length options, 118 and 126.

If I get another BB ES-25 118x73 will that just be a straight swap and the cranks fit nicely? I'm assuming the 118mm is the overall length so that would make sense....

Sounds about right to me. Most Octalink is 118mm IME

Cool, that'll do cheers!

Also - 8 speed sram cassette onto a traditional shimano 10 speed hub - straight on?
I know 8/9/10 speed shimano bodies are supposed to be the same but do you need spacers or anything that wouldn't come with the cassette?
