I'm after some radar path ev for road cycling (flies) and running (glare) and wondered what the prism were like as an all round lens in bright and dull?

Failing that what about paying a bit more for the reactive lens, anyone using that version?

Prism road are a bit meh, alright, but the Prism-ness doesn't seem to offer as much, Prism Trail are superb, but not what I'd use for the road. If I had to have one I'd probably go Clear Black Iridium photochromic, which is fantastically versatile.

I got the photochromic lenses. Been perfect for dull overcast days in the UK, and good for the sunniest days too.

I've found that Prism Road gets better when the weather gets more Californian!

Trail is more impressive, I agree.

I wish they still made the Persimmon to Black Iridium lens, as that's the best I've ever used. Only have them in my Flak XLJ. So, Clear to Black Iridium is the next best thing.

Oddly, I find it completely the other way around - Prizm trail I'm not that excited about compared to Prizm road, which i think are excellent. But the photochromic lens are really very good and do for 90% of my riding so I rarely use anything other than them.

For running I only use glasses if it is really bright so would choose the prizm road over trail.

I like the Prizm road lens, works for me over quite a wide range of light conditions for road cycling, for running use I think it probably depends on what sort of running you're doing. If it's off road, the Prizm Trail's probably better, but as above, it tends to 'brighten things up' so maybe not ideal for really scorchio conditions.

I've got Prizm Trail which are great for overcast days on the road and sunny days ducking in and out of woods, but I was recently looking at other lenses for sunny road days. Here's a list of Oakley lens colours ranked by % of visible light transmission:

Black Iridium 10% (grey base colour)
Fire Iridium 16% increased contrast (orange base colour)
Grey 18%
Sapphire Iridium 20% (grey base colour)
Prizm Road 20%
Clear Black 23% to 69%
Prizm Trail 36%

I don't find the "Prizm" contrast effect as amazing as some, so I'm hesitating between Fire Iridium and Road Prizm. Will probably come down to special offers!

Cheers, sounds like I could do with both but from comments the photochromic sound like the ones.

Any recommendations for non-Oakley branded photochromic lenses (for Gascans..Oakley don't make photochromic lenses for them I don't think)
