Anyone had experience of using this lense? I tend to cycle towards the end of the day so sunny when I go out and starting to get dark later on in my ride. Lense isn't cheap so wanted to check before I buy.

I've been using Oakley Transisions for 11-112 years. Day and night. They work great.

Not oakley, but used a transition prescription lens before i had laser eye surgery.
I miss having one pair of riding glasses that i could use for all riding conditions.

Get them you wont regret it.

Use mine on the road rather than Mtb but been very happy in the few months I've had them.  Don't notice they're there (so to speak) or any change in tint as I ride, so clearly doing the job.

I used to love my clear to black Oakley transitions, but now prefer their Prizm lenses for evening rides, or in fact everything that is not blazing sun with no tree cover - for which I wouldn't ideally use the transitions either as they don't go mega dark.

I have a good pair, just can’t remember what they are called. They have a tab / switch on the bridge of the nose to flick them up to ventilate.

Anyway, was actually using them on Tuesday evening / night.

Started around 7pm in bright sunshine and they were ace.

Sun got lower and lower and to be really honest I didn’t think that they helped much when I was riding directly into the sun. But I complained less than my buddy!

Kept them on all evening as the sun went down, and even after we put the lights on for a final dark decent through the trees at about 9.30. They actually helped improve things in the dark. Plus, they stop the dust going into your eyes.

So yes, they really are great and worth the premium.

Thanks all for your comments. Think I will give them a try. Just need to surf the net now or cheapest price!

Lenses are great, but very fragile

I broke the photochromic lens on my radar ev, which was changed under warranty

The new lens has never been removed from the frame, but has cracked across the tab that holds the lens in at the corner

Ive also noticed my photochromic lens in my jawbreakers has a crack in it.

The older transitions lenses in my jawbones are still going strong

Big margin of error on that estimate 🙂
