Wife keeps giving me a hard time about my M-frame heaters sayingI look like I'm trapped in the early 90s (Botham/Aggesi). Do we rate the Jawbones and if so, where's the cheapest place for them?

By the way, I like the heaters, they just work although spare vented lenses seem to be getting a bit thin on the ground.

Rate my jawbones, they're comfy and fit well with a helmet. And I think they look cool. They're the only riding glasses I've not felt a complete tool wearing as sunglasses.
Got mine from steptoes, which was the cheapest I could find at the time.

yet another (predictable) thumbs up for Steptoes and also for the Jawbones themselves. I've got the vented yellow / black iridium lens combination and I've worn them pretty much daily on the commute since I got them back in the summer of 2009.

I'm going to buy myself an iridium G20 or similar for the spring I think.

I preferred them to the Radars and half jackets I had previously. Better fitting (Ive a big head though), the vented lenses seem to work a treat and being able to easily swap over the lenses is grand. As far as aesthetics goes - not sure any cycling glasses are really going to set the world alight in that regard but they look better with the black iridiums in than the yellows (and some of the frame colors are a bit grim). I'd probably go for a white frame were I to get a different / another pair.

I must admit, I had a quick try on of the jawbone and the radar. The jawbone did feel a lot more stable. The radar just feels like another M-frame (which isn't a bad thing) but the Jawbone felt more solid on my face.

Like mine. They're the only Oakleys that fit with my helmet rocloc (funny shaped head) as they have shorter arms.

Mine came from Steptoes too - they swapped out the black vented lens for a G30 vented at no cost - didn't see much point in a real dark lens for UK conditions woodsy riding and the G30 + yellow options covers everything except nightriding very nicely.

I found the Jawbones much too big for my face, much prefer the Radars personally.

Worth posting then. I'd seen a few places at £144 for the black vented ones but I didn't know that Steptoe's were willing to swap out the lenses. Thanks for that.

are many people using the photochromic/transition type lenses? Are they worth getting?

I'm using them and think they work really well, although I only use them on the road bike so can't comment what they are like in the woods etc.

That's what I was wondering about. Would they change quickly enough for in and out the trees on a bright day.

Does the venting on the Jawbones actually work with regard to steaming up?

I have used venting on M frames and Rudy Project, the vents on the Jawbones work better IMO

Cheers for the offer Bat but red would clash with other bits of kit. I was looking for something more understated.

I've been using vented M frames and found they worked well, I switched back to a non vented lens today and paid the price! If I get the jawbones, they'd have to be vented. I'm possibly a bit sweatier than most other people.
