I've been riding 26" wheels and mountain bike tyres for years but have just ordered my first 29er frame.
I've been looking at 29er gravel/multi-use type tyres; some, such a the Schwalble G-One are sized in mountain bike terms which I understand (eg. 29x2.35) whilst others, super as Specialised's Sawtooth are 700x42c.
Rim allowing, I know that either will fit a 29er rim; how do I convert 42c (or other metric sizes) into inches?
I ignore the letter on the end and convert the last number into either inches or mm, depending on which one you prefer
42÷25.4
Great, thanks to you both; that makes it easy!
Okay, so I've just spotted this is a tyre review:
They’ll be available in a UCI-friendly 28 x 1.3 (700×33)
33÷25.4 is pretty much 1.3" but why 28 (not 29) when it's a 700mm tyre?
Because 29ers aren't really 29" either 😆
