At least I'm not alone doing it , it's just the cupboard my bike gets " hidden" in cant take extended .

Good question mate, I was just wondering the very same thing, I have just fitted a Reverb and storing it with my other bikes I have to have the seat down. So I think from the replies we are OK having it down.

Mine's always been stored "down" since new. That's about 12 months now.
Just seemed like the logical way to protect it from damage.
It's been fine so far.

What about upside down storage, either up (ie down) or down (ie up)?

Upside down may mean you need to pump the lever a bit to get any air out of the hose and into the lever.... maybe..... give it a go 🙂
