Thinking about getting a new mobile phone. and fancy a Nokia with GPS tracking. Like the C5.
I have heard that there are Apps which convert the lat/long data into OS grid, and that would be a useful thing to have. And a google turned up this: UTMdata which looks like it does what I want.
But I am stupid and don't understand phones. Will that Nokia run Apps? How do you install them?
Anyone enlighten me and give me a numpty's guide to modern mobile phones?

That phone should do what you want. Installing apps is easy, either download them straight to the phone via the net or download to a PC then connect via bluetooth or a cable. Takes seconds. I've got a nokia 5800 which is a nice mapping phone as it has a decent screen size and good battery life and its cheap. Loads of good navigation apps out there; viewranger for os maps, sportstracker for logging, ovi maps for road navigation, + plenty more
