Old school technogrouch.

I'm looking at a frame with a 44mm head tube and I have a Chris King 1 1/8 headset. I've also got a pair of forks with an 1 1/8 steerer tube.

Is there some sort of reducer I can use to fit the headset and girls to the frame?

You'll need something like this. I've just got rid of a frame with this exact headset on, worked well for the money which is all you can ask for.

sell the chris king and buy a hope 44 headset or if you really want to keep the ChrisKing identity get an Inset1

Is it for the El Mariachi? If it is you'll need a top 44mm internal cup and a bottom 44mm external cup or if you put suss forks on it the fork dials hit the down tube when the bars spin
I ended up with a superstar one that came with two crown races for standard 1.18th forks and 1.5-1.18th tapered forks
I'll have a looksee and put a link up in a mo,
Edit This one you have to buy the 1.18th crown race separately now..

Khani, yes it's for the El Mariachi. I want to use a pair of Swift forks I got from Sam on it. I can't ever see me wanting to use suspension forks on it. Will those E13 reducers above not work?

Don't think they will, they're for a 1.5 headtube not a semi integrated 44mm headtube
I fitted a zero stack headset with an internal bottom cup at first and it felt too twitchy as well as fouling the down tube,
When I fitted the the external bottom cup it felt a lot better IMO..
Here's a pic with the headset fitted with rigid cromotos, it rides a dream in this setup.

Just been on the phone to Sideways and I got the the frame and they are kindly going to fit a Hope headset too.

It's rare for me to be this decisive on a Monday morning after only one cup of tea.

Thanks for your help above.
