Not necessarily, if internet rumours are right they’ll also be releasing a 180mm travel super-enduro bike (apologies, not my terminology).

Already asked about demo bikes and been advised they’ll not have demo bikes until at least January (if at all).

I've heard a new Mega is on the way, I was talking to my LBS about a new frame only and they said to hold fire and see the new Mega, they had been dropped some details about it.

New one has space for bottle. Instead of going straight to the BB, the downtube now goes down in front and then has a more horizontal section to go to the BB and that's what creates the space for the bottle.

Edit - D'oh! Yeah, like in the Pinkbike link above...

I reckon Brant's theory about sharing a mould with an EBie might be right

Might just be for the water bottle clearance?

Wouldn't the ebike version need more material above the downtube if it were an enclosed battery? Or would it be bolted on top?

That does look good - and I'm v glad they're listening to rider feedback re: bottle cages! I can't help but feeling they've gone a bit upmarket though, they're no longer the value option.

No sign of coil shock option either - looks like it might foul the top of a (750ml) bottle and I wonder if that's why.

'Anti-Squad' graphs - someone needs to proofread their work better!

they’re no longer the value option.

Nukeproof moves up, makes a more obvious space for Vitus. Paint continues to fall off both

What's with the carbon frame weighing only 50g less than the alloy frame? For that difference I think most riders would prefer the option for an alloy frame with a high end build kit.

Makes sense that they've massively overbuilt it if the same mould is to be used for an e-bike..

They will feel very silly now if they read this and they have chosen different names.

Not liking the look of the BB downtube interface. A fugly solution to create space for a bottle.
Marketing dept must think so too given all photos I’ve seen have crank arm strategically masking the fugliness.

The crank arm is in the correct 3 O'Clock position - I'm not convinced that's anything to do with the downtube. But yeah it's a bit... opoɯısɐnΌ

Hideous. Yeti do the same thing covering that awful downtube horizontally sticking out by hiding it with the crank in all their pictures as well.

Alloy frame only option only available in black is a bit of a let down. Colour schemes are a bit of a damp squib for a relaunch.

That pregnant down tube is really quite ugly on that bike.

The silhouette is very SB150. Hopefully it doesn't fall to bits like Yetis do 🙂

The silhouette is very SB150.

I got downvoted to oblivion on PB for saying the same when they were first "released" at Zermatt. Must have timed it with morning coffee break US Mountain Time.

How is that the Mega V4? I had a Mega V2 which was made in 2013 or did they only start counting a couple of years ago?

I guess they've lumped the last few years' efforts together, despite the geometry and suspension kinematic changing a bit, so it's...

v1 = round tubed linkage single pivot cheap original Mega
v2 = square tubed linkage single pivot quite cheap heavy Megas (26 and 27.5, short and longer travel)
v3 = swoopy alu & carbon four bar getting more pricey Megas (at least two geometries per wheelsize?)
v4 = new Yeti-esque bit more expensive alu and carbon again Megas

Just a race rig. Use for a few months, abuse and sell.

Also, why do all the journos say it looks like the outgoing model?

Take the stickers off and I wouldn't have guessed it was a Nukeproof. Could have been loads of brands' new 4-bar enduro bike.

By my reckoning its V6, original 2012 then squared 2013 both 26" then squared 27.5 followed by swoopy 27.5/29 then they got boosted and now its ugly rock magnet downtube version.
The alloy version is less likely to get smacked, the carbon downtube is definitely more in the firing line by about an inch, I'm not liking the alloy versions dropout sections as much as my current one, ugly welds replace the nice smooth forged sections that were nicely hollowed out on the inside and the welds around the post mount look crap.
They've sneakily added a fiver to their horizon V2 risers bars too at crc.

Quite a bit on this weeks GMBN Tech

From 5m30 if you don't want to reminisce over bike names

Looks good to me. I like the bottle space. Could fit a few tools and spares in there too, nice and low down

Anyone else know much about 2021 availability?

A buddy pre-ordered a Reactor29 comp a couple of months ago. Was told last week for pick up - now being told 10-14 days (from the shop he ordered via).

Odd as I’ve seen the posher models in other shops.

I like Nukeproof stuff. Nothing fancy. Beat it, put it away. Who cares. Just a tool for the trails.

nukeproof giga still to be released, guessing that will be out soon as well if anyone is thinking of buying. Looks very like a megatower and will have more towers. Saw some pics somewhere but can't see them now.
