Hello - How do the Nukeproof Reactor 290 Elite frames size up (the carbon fibre ones) ? I am 6:2ft (189cm), 82kgs and 32inch inside leg, Looks like I should be on an XL frame as these are a bit smaller than the current huge aluminium reactors (2023). I was close to ordering an aluminium one but was told the 2023 are really long and stretched, but the 2022 Elite frame looks a more normal size. Are there any issues with inefficiency and pedal bob when riding on flat and uphill?

Hi, so I’m 6’2” and bought a 22 large. Really happy with the fit. I am longer legged than you though by a couple of inches, can’t remember exactly and don’t have a tape measure to hand . Running about 15mm spacers and a 25mm rise bar (again from memory). 50mm stem.
Wasn’t looking for a lot of reach. Hopefully that helps a bit.

edit: happy to answer any questions or if you’re local you can have a go. Brighton area..

No issues with inefficiency pedalling on my L but the tyres are pretty draggy.

On the pedalling stuff, it’s been fine took a couple of rides to get the suspension settings right for me. I have used the lockout occasionally for long draggy climbs but generally avoid it because I forget to turn it off!

Thanks. I’m still really stuck here on size, Nukeproof chart puts me just on the large, but I’m getting conflicting opinions, Nukeproof team are saying large but most NP riders of reactors are saying a firm XL… all help/advice much appreciated.

I don't even have a lockout - still fine. I use the rail setting, and it's all quite nicely sorted pedalling wise.

I am on the boundary between M and L, I went with L on the assumption that it would be longer.  It was ok, not sure if better than M or not.  But with a 45mm stem it gave me the option to reduce to 35mm which was pretty good. In the end I got a bar with more sweep that meant putting the 45mm back on.

I'ts a relatively XC orientated position still though, not what I'm used to on my rowdy bike.  I am not that experienced with trail or enduro bikes but it seems to be a sort of halfway house between the two - which is what I was going for really.

I saw an XL in the shop and there is a really tall seat tube mast. I have a 32" inside leg and on the L there is only about 2cm of seatpost showing.  So if you have the same length legs as me you may not be able to lower the saddle enough on an XL.

As per @molgrips - check the geo charts carefully, they are great bikes but the seat tubes are horrendously long for each size, and meant I had to write it off my list of potentials. They fit people with short torsos and long legs well!
