I've got a pair of Neutrons on my road bike. Went for a ride last week and noticed that the end cap had fallen off. Pedals were able to slide about 10mm outwards on the axle. I've just got some new end caps but can't see any way to stop the pedals sliding outwards even with the new cap.

Help!

That usually means the inner bushing is dead. The cap should stop and slop. People often locktite the cap.

Have you lost the nut from the end of axle ?

The end cap 'pre-loads' the axle, so takes the slop out.

I've had to locktite my end cap in place

New end cap fitted and loctited. Other end cap checked - lose, locktited. The axial play I thought I had was because the inner seal had been pushed away from the pedal body, with both pedals off I could see it wasn't a problem.

Not sure that Loctite will work well with nylon - we'll see.

Thanks all for your help
