I’m considering one or the other of these

I’ve gone right off road riding but fancy something with drops that’ll do anything from The a dirty Reiver, the odd (slow) cross or if I get forced to by my mates could get round a club road ride (if I plugged some road wheels with 35mm tyres in there)

Any opinions on the two bikes - it’s the current Digger Factory I’m interested in - currently same price as the Trig but slightly better spec -

I’m thinking the “extreme” geometry of the Digger probably won’t suit road wheels/riding very well, but this is likely to be relatively rare and the honking potential on it in the meantime could be ace -

I've got a Trig (2021). Bought the frameset and built it up with 700c wheels. Not ridden a Digger so can't compare but really happy it.

@slowpuncheur has a Digger and doesn't hang around on it.

Definitely pushing the MTB end of gravel. Looks great.

I have a trig and haven’t quite managed to gel with it... it’s lovey in the navy blue, and I feel it should be my favourite bike. Despite having 2 wheelsets for it (650b x 2.1 and 700 x 37) it always feels like a compromise. I have it built up with off road in mind - wide flared bars, dropper, 1x which might explain why it’s disappointing on the road, and I’m guessing my skills / desire for comfort are what holds it back off-road (admittedly my local off-road is pretty lumpy)

Probably doesn’t help much, but in a refusal to give up on the romantic wish for a drop bar bike for off road I’m now thinking of swapping the build onto a Cascade and giving up entirely on the idea of one bike for 2 disciplines

Had mine since early Spring so it's 'last years'. Replaced my On One Tempest. It's a great bike for riding easy MTB trails, exploring, etc. Having the dropper post, smaller wheels, big tyres etc does make it a lot less good as a mile muncher. Have done one big 60km/1200m day around CyB through and it was excellent on all those lumpy gravel fire roads.

Had some wider/flared bars going spare so stuck those on it, otherwise stock.
