Has this gone under the radar a little bit, only mullet and 29er full builds for the Mega and Giga, frame only for 27.5, mega is grey only for alloy and black only for carbon but mullet n 29er get a kraken blue option. The alloy mega builds are a bit disappointing, comp with deore and domain fork weighing around 16.5kg and pro in a lovely red colour with sram gx and zeb select, they've got rid of lyriks, the red with SLX or XT and lyriks or 36's would have been a nice option, pity the red isn't a frame only option.
Also in general is it a bad time to buy a 2022 bike if you're not getting 2022 rockshox.

I know there's a pandemic, and shortages, lucky if you can actually get a bike blah de blah.

frame only makes sense. Saves them having to spec wheels etc and people who currently have 27.5 bikes can swap their gear over. I'd be interested in the frame only mega.

I agree. I've got a lovely 27.5 bike and no current imminent desire to change. But if I did there are 2 sensible options for me:

1) new 27.5 frame

2) new 29 frame, fork and wheels (which might be acheived by buying a full bike and some classified selling)

On a full bike, getting something objectively better than my current wheels and brakes and drivetrain seems to run 7k plus at 2022 prices.

Some odd choices being made at nukeproof, like does the Mega need 38mm forks, on the Giga yes but the Mega, given the option i think most would go lyriks and save over half a pound.
The one colour choice or make that no choice in 27.5 is poor and I agree red would be better option than grey only. I do love the mullet option though, but seeing as the alloy Mega put Nukeproof on the map it deserves better options than just deore or mid range sram. I like the red pro but I'm not a fan of sram, the blue carbon one is also nice but way out of my price range.

because 38 is higher than 36.

It's a 160mm travel enduro bike, so it can definitely justify them.

My pal has the alu one with a Zeb and it's a very fair weight, all-in.

I'd choose one myself, if I was having a Mega as my big bike.

Interesting point about the new rockshox, I think they'll have to be classed as 2023 seeing as under normal circumstances we'd only be a few months off the next years rockshox model coming out, I wonder if the bike companies will change fork spec later in the year before 2023 bikes are released, with a lot of bikes on order already who knows what forks will be on when your bike finally arrives, some people have already been waiting months and months after having their arrival date bumped several times.

Strange then that they didn't spec the zeb on megas last year, maybe its getting specd more this year and the lyrik in 170 is playing second fiddle now.

Model years are out the window right now. Bikes are coming with what’s available when they ship.
