My fixed gear Karate Monkey got nicked along with the cherished 165mm Middleburn Uno Chainset. So the only place advertising them was Active Sport, but when I went to buy the arms they were out of stock, they contacted Middleburn and they'd have to make them, so a 2 week wait, did I wish to proceed, having no alternative I agreed but asked as they were making them could I have them in black, which wasn't even an option. Instead of 2 weeks+ 3 working days they arrived and in black.
Now that's what I call good service........
Middleburn are nice guys
Seconded. Before I became a Middleburn crank owner, I bought, secondhand, a Middleburn 20mm front hub (so that was a long time ago). I couldn't get the disc brakes to fit, so I rang them up and they explained that it was an early model, from before the standards had become defined, so the spacers were wrong, they would pop a new set in the post. I asked how much and they said nowt.
I've since had good service from them replacing the axle on my X-type cranks when I managed to wear it by not replacing the bearings soon enough, and sending me a different spider. They charge for this, but their prices are reasonable, specially the axle replacement, way less than a whole new crankset.
A bit old-fashioned, you have to ring them up and chat to someone about it...
