60 quid for a set of hubs from Superstar. Decent weight, engagement is okish - price was so low that I couldn't help it.

Am I going to regret this?

I've a set on my 29er/B+ bike, only had them for 6 months, but very impressed so far.

Have them on my race cross bike laced to a tubular rim. No faults here (nearly 2 years)

Also have a set on my crosser which gets ridden like a mountain bike so they probably take more of a hammering than the Hopes on the big bike! No complaints yet and they are incredibly light

Mildly suspect that they might come with the wrong rear axle though. Superstar states that they are the 142 model and the spec sheet states QR 135 or X-12 142 but the spec sheet goes on to state that it has a 10x145mm axle.

Any idea where I can get a cheap 12x142mm conversion for them?

Good to hear decent reports.

There's a guy on ebay, who sells them through his shop - foxenhole - I reckon you'll get spares from him.

Cheers NoBeer!

Complete sucker for a deal, and I couldn't get through to superstar by phone (no surprise there 😀 )

So I'll wait and see, if not, theres the distance trade act.

I have them on my road bike: very good hubs and a steal at that price.

Only because for the whole of May they were that price but with a 25% off code, so 45 quid...I'd also wait 'til you get them before buying new axles as I thought they were 12x142 rear (I nearly bought some last month).

🙁

Oh well.

Still happy at 59.99 tbh. The next cheapest set was about 120 quid! I was going to go with Hopes, but 280 quid for a wheel build vesus 400 - is most of the way to going 1x11 with an XTR cassette or a 165mm crank or tyres....or kneepads....all of which I need/want right now 🙂

Did I say I love deals?

When they die, I'll replace with DT Swiss/Hope.

got a set on lewis's ripcord - they don't come with a 9/10mm through axle only QR/15mm front and QR/12 rear. Front is just a set of end caps, rear is a new axle

By QR/12 you mean a 12mm maxle fitting right?

That will be fine then! 🙂
