I've got a training course coming up near Nottingham, clumber park hotel and will have a spare few hours.
Are there any marked trails nearby worth visiting?
I'll be on my own with limited time so an easy to follow route I'll be looking for if its worth bringing the bike.
Cheers

Definitely, easy routes around clumber park, way marked routes as well as national cycling network threading through it, definitely take the bike, it will help you escape from all the boring people talking shit in the bar,

You can nip through clumber past the major Oak at Edwinstowe and onto sherwood Pines from there.

Clumber Park has some bridleways if you just want to get out. Sherwood Pines is 10 miles south has marked trails including a 13km red (Kitchener), you can see on youtube it is lowland pine forest without huge elevation changes, a bit like Thetford or Cannock. I am sure a local will be along to offer better advice for the Mansfield/Worksop area!

I'll be avoiding the bar, and I'll be in a van and don't mind driving 1/2 hour if it's worth it.
Trail centre type ride preferred if possible.

Get in touch with Telski Trailblazers on Facebook and I'm sure they'll show around the good bits in Clumber. It's nothing life changing but there are some fun bits.

scaredypants must know the area talking like that, reminds me of hime just thinking about it! (used to live in Rainworth)
worth taking an xc bike & having a pootle, nothing exactly life changing, but fun to be had in tight & twisty singletrack.

Similar thread the other day from someone staying near Mansfield. Also a good route round there in issue 102.
