My Humvees make me look like Herman Goering therefore I'd like something a bit closer fitting.
A quick search just come up with Humvees. What can you recommend?

Buy some padded "boxer" shorts, loads on the interwebby thing and then wear whatever shorts you want on top.
Just as an example, I am NOT suggesting you buy these ones or use, god forbid, Amazon - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Baleaf-Padded-Bicycle-Underwear-Shorts-Black/dp/B00MTE6NEW/ref=sr_1_11?dchild=1&keywords=cycle+pants&qid=1605716888&sr=8-11

My madison whatever 3/4s aren’t too baggy. There was a PSA on here about them a couple of months ago.

NorthWave shorts here. Snug fitting compared with my Humvees and Mavic shorts, minimal pockets and very quick to dry with the lack of seams and double fabric layers.
I'm buying another pair instead of Endura again.

My Endura MT500s 3/4rs are a bit snugger than hummvees tend to be.
