So, with spring looming, I've been starting to think about what I might want to do this year...

What events are people getting excited about? Any discipline. Would be particularly interesting to hear about some of the lesser known ones that people hold in high regard. And maybe some more niche ones. Maybe some European events, and further afield too.

Dirty Reiver will probably be one of my first of the year. I've been totally sold into the concept of dry, dusty trails. In my mind it looks like all those pictures posted in the Great Divide thread the other day... All despite that I know Kielder, and I know it's not going to look anything like that in April.

Would love to do trans lakes but with no lottery win coming might miss out.
Kicking off with Oz enduro round 1 next month, local 12hr and then not sure got a 2 day multi stage rail race in November but the diary is empty after that.

Only one I have in the diary is the Aussie nationals. Hoping to to as well as I did last year but suspect I may not get anything.

Trials. It is a pretty good place to hang around as you get to see most of the other events.
If you are intending to go give me a shout.

Probably for the best. God help anyone watching me. They would either be bored or laugh to an early grave.

No Fuss "Champions Invitational" at Kinlochleven in November (it's not very invitational, they'll let any knobber in, basically it's the return of the dudes enduro)
Couple of good looking SES rounds, not sure I'll do many races this year tbh but Dunkeld and Dunoon are looking ace

Batch burner sold out in 65minutes apparently, for which I've entered.

I'd love to do a couple more Enduros but there al bloody miles away and I'd be on my own so probably won't!

Should find out over the next few weeks if I've got a Ride London 100 place via the ballot - Hope I have so I can try and improve on last year.

Might do the Dunwich Dynamo - either instead of, or as a last big training run for Ride London.

Not sure what else at this stage..

Single Track 6, Ride the West in July. Big trip this year and Canada instead of South Africa should be good but may need to shift some weight to enjoy it fully.

(We have an entry for Sani2c in May for sale, this is the last three days of Pawsy_Bear's Joburg2c mentioned above, if anyone fancies some dusty trails)

Be careful when searching for "trans lakes" you might not get the results you expect! 😛

Here's the event link http://lakesmtbepic.com/index.html slightly concerned that the banner image is of a cheeky nature.

Tour of the Highlands/5 Pistes Sportive. I'm in for the full Tour over the three days, solo this time instead of tandem 3Pistes last year.

A self-supported Scottish off-road coast to coast. Don't plan on missing that...

Glentress 7 is already signed up for.

I'd like to give Enduro another go but I'm worried its moved on a bit from the first couple I rode which were basically just "ride trail centre red routes fast"

Is there an an "Enduro for shitebags" sub category?

This year 12 hour solos 😮 So far have Bikefest & 24/12 entered.

If nothing else is motivation to train properly to stop it hurting so much/failing 😉

Mallorca end of the month, few 3rd cat road races applied for and a few crits with a dash of LVRC thrown in.

Maybe even the local RRL and a couple of sportives.

Nothing off road planned!!
