After reading the post about the Trek Stache, I've been intrigued by the whole 29Plus thing.

So, while my surly fork will be ok for tyres up to 3" wide, the wheels I've had my eyes on (superstar xx27 29er) work best with 29er tyres up to 2.8" wide.

What are my options for tyres, say 2.5" to 2.8" wide?

Ta 🙂

Fat B Nimble is not that big for a 29+

Surly Dirt Wizzards are much smaller than Knards (both claimed to be 29x3")

There's a Nobby Nic 2.6 just about to be released.

I disagree with Rocketdog on this, my bombolonis (on hugo's) size up big, the fat be nimbles and dirt wizards are a bit smaller though

Rim width does make a difference

Fat B's on a 38mm rim come up at about 2.8". I managed to fit one on the back of my Lurcher.

Thank you for your contributions.

Great suggestions for someone that's plus curious but doesn't want to go down the road of boost hubs, forks and odd looking rims.

The fatb nimble looks like a good contender. Still can't believe the figures for its rolling resistance, or lack of!

Cheers 😀
