Sorry but need some help with what to search for as a lot more models now compared to when I last bought a Fox - that was second hand even then but was a Fox 32 RL, pretty ubiquitous back then.

I need a tapered steerer, non-Boost or Boost is fine, travel 130mm minimum but handy to go down to 120mm or even (but not so important) up to an absolute max of 140mm.  I'm a bit old school (MTBing since '89) so for me it's just XC or call it trail use if you like but no big stuff.

Thus light weight is more important for me than super stiff - the Fox 32 with QR has been fine but realise things are beefier now.

On the RS side is it maybe the Pike or is the Revelation the budget version?

And what about the Fox range?

Ideally looking for something used from the last two years (17/18 season) and max budget £250 but £200 would be better.

Are there OEM (budget) versions to be wary of?

Sorry if this sounds like a wanted ad but I'm really wanting to learn which models have been made in that time scale that would suit.

Ahh, should add looking at 27.5" and not wanting 27.5+ or 29er capability.

Won't do better than that! Ang on, didn't they have the 27.5 34s on sale too?

I'll shut up, they were the 100mm travel ones.. these were what I was thinking of

https://www.bike-components.de/en/Fox-Racing-Shox/34-Float-27-5-150-Remote-Grip-Rhythm-Boost-Suspension-Fork-2017-OEM-p61611/

Couple of spacers and they're 140mm 🙂

Well, a bit more research and it seems a 29er fork might just be the ticket for the frames I was looking at after all.

Any catch with that first one linked (Fox 34 Float 29" 130 Grip Rhythm 51 Boost)?  Seems too good to be true for a new fork of that spec??

Anyone running one of these?

Any thoughts on it?  Have you installed it or weighed it (sorry!)?  Not sure on matt vs shiny....

Apparently they'e 1680gr.

Yes installed it. They go up and down, the lockout works. They're MUCH better than my others.

I have matt, tehy're pretty.

Me thinks you're giving this too much thought.

They'd have to be bloody rubbish to be worse than an 8 year old fork 🙂

I'll be shocked if you're not massively impressed. They're just very good.

They're pretty much the same as the one I got in Mojo's Fox sell off for about £100 more. Still bloody happy with it, still worth the money!

I’ll be shocked

badoom tish! 🙂

And bought.  Man, never made a decision so fast.  Thought I better jump in as these things have a habit of suddenly going and it's too late and a brand new fork with that spec for 2 year old used fork money is hard to resist.  I reckon they could be sold on eBay for 50% more anyway if the worst happens and plans change.

I bought four of them! Two 29er boost, one 29er eMTB and one 27.5 for my boy! Enjoy yours.
