You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Anyone else doing this? My and my OH have done it the last couple of years and it's uplifted this year- woo hoo! 😀 I'll be doing on it my hardtail (ie there's no need for special bikes with three feet of travel.)

Nothing to do with me, it's just jolly good fun down an old school taped-out grassy hill DH course and I though it might be of interest.
That's just up the road from me, they used to hold a round of the British MX Championship up there years ago, they came from near and far to compete. Great track, but I don't know what the Downhill track will be like.
It's brill, here's a vid from 2016-

That's not me riding but I got down in 3:27 on my HT 🙂
Probably not ..but just had a great day riding out of Westgate today ...it's bloody steep whichever way you leave the valley floor ..but there are some cracking descents to make up for it ..nice pot of tea in Chatterbox cafe in St John's Chapel ..and a pint of Weardale Gold in the Hare & Hounds in Westgate at the end ..completed a great day out .

Was that a road ride or MTB Hodgynd? Always wondered if there were any decent MTB trails out that way.
Crispy..it was a mountain bike ride ..there are some cracking trails in upper Weardale..
Here is my Viewranger overlay from the two rides we have done this year ..the blue line is from February when we were riding on top of snow drifts ..the black line from yesterday ..both contain a bit of cheeky stuff ..the February ride un-intentionally as we missed the bridleway turnoff as we hurtled down to the valley floor near Copthill..incurring the wrath of a local who was shouting at us from across the stream ..after taking so much abuse for what was a genuine mistake and apologising profusely ..I finally snapped and told him to go forth & multiply ..take the turnoff near the top towards Burtree Ford to stay legal ..( which isn't as exciting ) ..after getting to the road and turning left there is a bridleway on the right which no longer has a marker and is easily missed .
At Wearhead is the really naughty bit ..we followed the Weardale Way yesterday ..which is a footpath following the river Wear all the way to St.Johns Chapel ..it's a lovely section on a sunny day and the walkers we came across were all friendly..your choice.. the alternative being a road section.
We missed the climb after the cafe stop from St.Johns ..that we did in Feb...basically we couldn't be arsed..but did add a climb up from Daddry Shield for a cracking grassy b/way drop just above Low Saugh Shield ..easily missed as you are climbing up ..
It's not a huge ride ( 15 miles ) ..but with the aid of a map can be easily added to..but there are some brutal climbs straight from the off..
