I am going to Brandsburton near Bridlington/Driffield on holiday in August and i'm looking for nearby routes to go riding on with my brother in law. We are planning a trip to Dalby forest but i guess its about an hour's drive away?
Does any know any good routes or have any on gpx files i could download?
Probably looking for local routes that we can ride for a couple of hours a day that we can fit in between family activities. Difficulty not a problem as we're both competent riders.

Thanks in advance.

There is no good mtb riding at all around that way im afraid...i grew up round there and its basically muddy farmers fields with zero interesting mtbing at all. Dalby is the nearest place of any interest, but there is also loads of good singletrack that way as well. High Aiskew to Rosedale (start from Lastingham) is a good one, as is over to Goathland, but that might be swamp like given the rains of late.

On the plus side there is plenty of good road biking that way over The Wolds.

i did a trailquest event a few years ago, based at Thixendale.
it was quite ggod, we managed 40ish miles offroad. it was in summer and the tracks were dry.
i would not venture there at present.

Cheers guys, i had been thinking about the effect of all this rain, so will maybe have to rethink and take the road bike instead.
