I'm off to Rosedale Abbey for a weekend in a few weeks and have discovered it's central to some pretty good routes. There's an MBR loop I'm thinking of doing, but its been in the mag twice, going each way round. so is this trail, best going north to south, or south to north?

bit late repling but..... was visiting my bro in abbey this weekend and did some walking including this route (that I have rid both ways before) and would recommend you ride it clockwise from abbey finishing up down passed the old mine works ( as opposed to starting there and finishing down off Blackey rigg)if this is your chosen route.... Ground very frozen most of way round too.

i always go south to north there, but its probably fine the other way. that was a great piece of trail but it has been made wider and (i think) some rocks have been taken out. haven't been recently but i wouid expect some deep puddles and muddy stretches.
