Hi guys,
I’m thinking of bringing a few riders over in October to ride the usual: Marin, Penmachno, Coed-y etc; staying in Bests-y??; I really need to book the ferry asap as our borders are opening (IOM), and there’s going to be a mad rush.
Obviously, nobody has a crystal ball re what October will bring, but has anyone got info re the immediate/short term situation at the trail centres there please, just so I can make a calculated guess?
I'm pretty sure everything is now open. Certainly the Marin, Antur Stiniog, Foel Gasnach and Llandegla are.
Trail centres now open as normal in terms of riding. Visitor centres (where they exist - we went to Llandegla but I don't think Marin and Penmahcno have a visitor centre anyway) are open with the same restrictions as other places in terms of no indoor food as yet, wear a mask, keep your distance etc
All Open, Marin and Penmachno are just car parks and a forest !
It's likely we'll be back to normal by then. I'm just about to start planning our 'lads' MTB'ing in North Wales too, but I've got a caravan near Prestatyn - usually cram 6 or 7 of us in the caravan for beer, food and riding.
It's 18 months since we did the last one ! We'll all be desparate.
Come back down to south Wales - you've got someone waiting down here to guide you again. (And the riding is better! 😀 )
I've just spent a week riding in North and South Wales and both were awesome - but yep, the south did edge it for me.
Still buzzing from Risca on Monday.
I’ve heard that Llandegla is packed at the weekends
This is just a tester IdleJohn. Don’t you worry, we’ll be back. Is 3 days riding a possibility?
Ferry/van
booked....BandB next
Missed this.
Cheers guys 👍
We rode Llandegla during a weekday and it was fairly busy then. Everything was bone dry and gorgeous (maybe not today as it's poured down).
