Heading down to North Wales for a family doo, Had initially thought of Artur Stiniog but the weather is looking a bit dodgy. Just watched A Tommy C video of some new bits close to the Marin Trail . Im staying in Anglesey so not to far away and and less exposed than an open slate mine.
Are the new trail easy to find , Ive never ridden the old Marin trail but heard mixed reviews .

Any help is appreciated.

Well you deserve a prize for that.

😉

I was gonna go to Gwydir last weekend but cancelled due to the continuing storms & flooding. Llanwrst has had it pretty bad apparently.

The riding there is awesome though - both the on and off-piste. And there's so much in the area.

I'm heading up there weekend after next so was probably going to ask something similar near the time. Was a bit undecided whether to do Gwydir (that is the old Marin trail right) or Penmachno or both, over the course of a couple of days.

@Chakaping are the off piste trails relatively easy to find , Not knowing the area there dosent seem to be many clues on trailforks. Also Ive ridden Penmachno before and thought it was ok . Is it still worth a visit.

Yes and no.

You can do several really good descents off the main climb, and you'll certainly spot some off-piste but may not find the start points easily.

Then there's more off-piste all over the forest, some FPs and some just cut-in tracks. Including a bike-parky bit.

I got shown round a few times then worked it out myself on later visits.
