Following on from this closed thread

Is anyone a member of 'Baldock MTB'?

I pass various MTB groups - some quite large - every now and then on bridleways down between Letchworth>Welwyn.... On the off chance, does anybody here ride as a part of them?

How do I get in!!

My club CCAshwell occasionally do off-road rides as written up on their forum - but they're small and irregular.

(This won't make sense to anyone who doesn't live near) I'm trying to push Spokes to run or 'sanction' weekly Sat or Sun MTB rides from their cafe.

Thanks 😉

Can you stalk the people on Strava and find out on there?

Could they be from Hitchin?

Active club. Just a bit too far from me. But 2 mates from work ride with them regularly

For fear of a thread hijack I’m in a very similar boat to the OP and have wondered many times whether a “meet us here” section could be added to the general forum with a view to connecting riders within their local area(s)

I don’t claim to know how easy or viable that would be but could be a worthwhile addition?!

Theres OTT mountain biking out of Harpenden. I think anyway, I have seen bunches from them in the past.
Some St albans groups eg bc cycles are going to be around the welwyn/stevenage part.
Kinetic cycles in welwyn also used to do rides but not sure nowadays.

I am too antisocial to join any of them mind and going all give me my redsocks and walking poles dont think most of the local trails handle a mix of a ton of cyclists all at once and the local ramblers groups well.

I do need to get out to spokes at some point on the road bike (offroad I find it gets a tad shite in area surrounding it. couple of nice drops into the valley below but not around it).

Thanks all. Windmill CC - what a find! Thanks! I think this might just solve my Mtb loneliness.

There is also another group I see when out in the area and they are based at the Red Lion Pub in Gt Offley.

Herts Wheelers run off-road rides in that area too.
Not sure of the exact details as I haven't ridden with them for decades - but do say Hi!
