Anyone got any good MTB rides North Dartmoor,
Between Okehampton - Exeter area? or know where to find some?
Found a 25 mile, "North Bovey loop" anyone done it? any good?

I do know about Haldon and hope to get a ride there as well.

Thanks

Clockwise as shown. But that first pull up is pretty brutal. I’d ride the road a bit further along and double back up beckaford lane.

Might be only 20km but that’s a hard ride...

Thanks all, Choices to make, see how I feel after a family wedding!!

Thanks Jam bo, Nice warm to start with then!
I have seen that route with the start/finish bottom left of the route where it touches the road.
Might start there.

I tend to park in manaton. That one at hound tor can get pretty busy.

Problem with the cleave is I find it hard to make a good loop without either doubling back over stuff or some brutal push ups. Should be prime conditions though, it’s dry as a bone and the summer growth isn’t up yet.

The cleave is as good as it gets on Dartmoor. Okehampton area is dire.

Jambo is right that some of the push ups in the cleave are hardwork but they're worth it.

The run from hunter's tor, down the nutter cracker (take the traverse on the right 80% of the way down) and then down to the bridge is awesome as it has everything; fast open singletrack, techy rocky steep bits and even faster swoopy bits through the trees. Bloody love it.

Edit: don't be fooled by the miles - Dartmoor miles count twice, especially in the cleave.
