My shock never used to leave any oil residue on the damper shaft at all. It was always clean and dry when riding. Now after I have serviced it - new seals, grease, oil etc I get a build up of dirt etc on the travel O ring and at the end of the damper shaft. The dust is attracted by the oil/grease residue that comes through the seals. Is this normal? Its not losing air at all, just a weep of oil. Its been 4 rides since the service and there seems to be no end it to.
A - either this is normal and it should have been doing this all the time
or
B - Its not .
Surely its not good for the shaft to have have fine dirt on it as it will act like sand paper??
Cheers
IME this is pretty normal and it stops after a 'while'. Had it with a new monarch and also following DIY air can seal service.
I’ve heard mixed opinions on this. But I’ve often had this issue if I’ve put in a little too much grease. Leaks out for 5 or so rides and then goes back to normal.
