Anyone ride or ridden one before,Im looking at an upgrade from my Reign and have always liked the Norco's,
handy the the local Evans stocks them,so if any issues, nip along and have a chat locally,Im kinda para about going down the Carbon route so want to stay Aluminium
I was coveting the Bird Aeris but the Norco seems a good deal and kitted out pretty similar to the Bird,I have a mate who has had plenty bother with buying a bike online and keeps having to send it away, giving him more time without than with his bike,So the idea of buying on my doorstep appeals,
For similar money to the bird the Norco seems a bit of a bargain compared to the new Reign i was looking at,Over 1k cheaper
Great bike , Evans not so much
Evans have always been great to me. Bird are supposed to be excellent at customer service, though - as in really excellent, so I'd not let that put you off.
I'd say the Bird is probably more modern than the Norco, longer and so on. Either will be good bikes.
Cheers Munrobiker,Not sure if I'm wanting something Superlong but by looks of things all the bikes these days are long and slack,Ive had a wee shot on my mates Bird and felt ok considering it was a lot longer then my Reign but in the scheme of things,my Bike is pretty short,Not sure if the longer bike would be a hinderance or blessing esp in tight steep trails
Bummer,Norco not available till December
I have the 2015 one. Had it over a year now.
As above - great bike but Evans are poor. If you get one, you're on your own pretty much. What few spares they can get hold of come direct from Norco, take weeks to arrive and cost a lot.
The swingarm bearings near the axle are tiny small and rubbish. They don't last long at all. I've done mine twice this year already. The frame has 10 bearings in total. On the flipside none of the bearings are 'blind' so fairly easy to do.
2016 may be different but the paint is thin and marks very easily - I'd suggest getting invisi-framed or similar.
Apart from that its a solid bike. Used it from Llandegla to fort bill WC track and everything inbetween,
Sizing wise on a medium @ 5'9 - if I was any taller I'd want the large. I feel they size up quite small.
Hope this helps
