Is it beyond being bent back with the right tool? Post a pic of the hangar and where you are as you never know what's lurking in stw's spares boxes

Bit extreme innit? I mean , he only bent the hanger and it wasn't even really his fault.

Sorry been watching the cyclo cross!! Its a marin wildcat, going to see if shop can get it bent back to shape tomorrow, they might haveca hanger to. Think its Marin hanger 37.

Got it bent to close enough by hand to ride home in just one gear.

Remove it from the bike, bend it back in a vice, or with a spanner. But be gentle otherwise it will snap.

Then go online and order two, one of which lives with the bike.

No shit, they just arent much use on the inter net they need to be on the bike and most places are rightly closed for a bit.

Then go online and order two, one of which lives with the bike.

I've already ordered 2 from 2 different places to see who is quickest!!

My youngest absolutely walloped his in lockdown 1.

Straightened to workable with an adjustable and a great deal of care and then mech hanger tool to refine it. Still going months later but must order a spare.

The lbs should be able to straighten it fine matey unless outs properly, properly messed up.

As above, buy a cheap hanger alignment tool for when it happens again in the future. Worry their weight in gold. Almost.

The mech itself ok?

Oh, I'm guessing your lads ok too.😁

Gutted for you and your lad but you've got a whole year of riding to come.👍🌄

At least he's ridden it! Bought my lad a fancy new frame and built it up with him from his old bike, turns out old one has a direct mech fitting and new one is standard. Now patiently awaiting an adapter bracket in the post, hopefully will be able to ride before the school hols finish.

You think the mech hanger situation is bad just wait till he sees how badly you've let him down as a photographer. 😉

Hope you get it sorted soon

Heat it up with blow torch, put in vice and straighten, allow to cool, replace. Did that to my Trek about 5 years ago, still going strong. And defo get a mech hanger tool, they make finessing this straightening so much easier.

+1 for the great tree photo 😂😂
