My wife has seen people cycling with Altura Night Vision tights and decided that I should be wearing these on my commute.

There doeesn't appear to be a non-padded version. I assume (I've never tried it) that I'll get chafing issues with pads in both shorts and tights - but would anyone with a reasonable commute (mine is 10 miles each way) want to contradict that?

Or does anyone else make a non-padded bib tight with a lot of reflective trim?

I wouldn't have thought you'll get chafing on a 10 mile ride if you're double-padded. I didn't on the odd times I used to do it on my old commute. It felt like I was sitting on a loaf of bread 🙂

You could of course remove the padding from the Alturas if it caused a problem.

L bought me some altura night vision tights and after a 40m round trip I immediately cut the pads out as they were so awful. Took about 40 minutes. They're much better now.
