Anything going new or old ?
Stif Morf... i think.
Stanton Switchback / Slackline
Like the morf but can't find frame only ,stanton a bit pricey for me
DMR Trailstar?
Onza Jackpot £199 or complete bike Inc Reverb and Revelations for £699! Quality double Butted frame to boot! I'm loving mine. 😎
Hanging my nose on the onza oldfart but not a pressfit bb fan
Why steel ? I was steel only for few years but after trying decent aluminum it opens up lots more options. Never found modern aluminum frames any harsher than steel.
Plus one I had a aluminium frame my back struggled got a charge skinny never had a problem maybe geometry means more than frame material ? I know not
I had a aluminium frame my back struggled
Was it a cheap alloy frame ? Modern geometry mid- to high end alloy are more forgiving than low end stuff. IMO

@oldfart That's a bargain... my PayPal credit may take a hit this weekend!
DMR Trailstar £320 direct from DMR.
Much more modern geo then the Onza, and a threaded BB to boot.
Yeah I pondered the Onza Geo for a long time, I needn't have. Depends what sort of riding you want to do really. I'm 64 hence forum name 🙄 I don't need anything as Slack as the Trailstar. I did a 20 miler on the Quantocks last week and coped just fine. In fact I enjoyed it as much as my E Bike! 😎 As for the BB I'll take a chance at that price. Househusband if you're in the mid Somerset area you're more than welcome to take a look.
Plus one it was a Commencal meta ht aluminium frame the DMR looks too much for my needs but the Onza does look very very tempting
I like my Onza, it's nicely made and handles well, loads of tyre clearance, the BB is a non issue.
SRAM adapter with the Hope BB from my last hardtail threaded into it. Not had a squeek from it.
It's not light and feels really short compared to my Bird Aeris but most things do.
No chain device tabs if that's an issue.
Househusband if you’re in the mid Somerset area you’re more than welcome to take a look.
@oldfart Cheers but I'm several hundred miles away! I've been mulling things over and in all honesty I think the 29" version, the Payoff, might be more tempting... long-term monstercross project maybe!
I'm selling my Chromag Samurai 65 if that floats your boat? Canadian built steel 👍
So haggis 1978 are you going to put the Chromag on the classifieds? Househusband would the Payoff be frame only? The complete bike doesn't come with a dropper.
/*cough*/ Transition Trans Am? There’s a lovely one in the classifieds..
Househusband would the Payoff be frame only? The complete bike doesn’t come with a dropper.
@oldfart Full build. The Payoff is a 27.2mm seatpost and the full build isn't offered with a dropper; I have a spare carbon seatpost and they're pretty good at softening the ride - that'd be of more use to me.
The Onza’s look decent but the Revs are the old 32mm and Reverb externally routed right?
chestrockwell yeah but what do expect for £600? 😁
True, true. Unfortunately no use as a donor bike though.
Advertised it a while ago but should be more visible now.
