Myself and a mate have just got Nomad 4's and both upgraded to 200mm rotors as the stock 180's struggle a little in the Alps.
However... both of us have noticed how tight the rotors run to the frame...
We both have the i9 rear hub and I'm using a shimano icetech 203mm rotor and there is literally about 1mm of gap between the rotor and the frame.. I was worried that if I bent it slightly it would start eating the frame.
He has a 203mm Avid centerline rotor and it's already touching the frame! (mainly on the rear of the 2 carbon brake mounts. but also on the front mount too).
Whats going on? do i9 have strange disc spacing?
There seem to be 2 options to keep 200/203 mm rotors...
1, machine the i9 rotor mount on the hub down by 1 or 1.5mm (assuming they have enough meat on them to still be strong).
2, Place a 2mm spacer onto the end of the hub on the disc side to space it slightly away from the frame... however this is a bit of a faff as the spacer will easily get lost and it's also splaying the frame slightly.
I'd have understood the issue a little if it was just my shimano rotor but to replace it with a like for like on the code rsc brakes with the 203mm rotor and have it catch seems pretty crazy!

Other option would be go back to 180 and stop dragging the brakes 😉
I have heard similar before, I think it's a known issue with certain hub/rotor combos and in particular floating rotors.

Yeah I saw that thread but in this case its just a standard avid centreline rotor thats catching before my shimano one is!
Must be the i9 hub spacing make it riskayyy....
And 180 rotors dont ride so well with codes when youre getting sendy with the boiiiiis. certainly no brake drag just poor avid feel at 180.
