I need to replace my 3G Nexus 7 and was looking at the Nokia lumia 2520.

I don't think the fact it uses Windows apps will be much of a problem as it will mainly be used for email and the evernote app at work then normal browsing and music playing in the evening.
Anyone have any experience of them?
Thanks.
If I was going for a Windows tablet it would be to have full blown Windows running Windows desktop apps combined with the 'Modern' apps for tablet use. In fact that's what I did and got a Dell Venue 11 Pro (the Atom version), which I love. Has to be combined with a detachable keyboard though. Not cheap the Venue 11 Pro, but nice. Bit like a Surface Pro but better keyboard on offer. Cheap alternative is something like an Asus Transformer T100, though maybe that's an old model now. There's also the Dell Venue 8 Pro which is an 8" tablet and full Windows. Again you really want a detachable keyboard to make the most of it though.
Careful with full Windows tablets though as often the on board flash memory is a bit small. 64gb is okay. 32 is quite limited.
The Lumia 2520 is Windows RT and while yes you can just use the Windows apps for surfing etc, it only runs 'Modern' apps and the app availability is very poor. Combined with the imminent death of RT also as Microsoft may dump the platform entirely, giving up and concentrating on full Windows 10 for tablets & laptops/desktops, and a cut down mobile version for phones and phablets. Not sure Windows RT will ever get an upgrade, though could be wrong.
For a plain surfing tablet, I'd stick with Android.

Have you tried the 'chat' forum?
Thanks Deadkenny, I will need to consider Windows RT going out of date, it could be a real problem. I may be better going with Android, it doesn't have to have the latest spec.
Didn't realise that posts were still separated Bikeneil, I always view both forums at once and clicked on new post.
Windows RT may being going out of date but the existing RT machines tend to be cheaper than full windows and certainly the Surface RT came with Office which you have to buy on full windows. It may not be perfect but for browsing and editing docs it's a winner
The jury is out on RT. Microsoft have hinted they'll do a non-phone Arm version of Windows 10 but not until later this year at least. Though they have been keen on making a more uniform Window 10 for all platforms, including Xbox.
If RT devices are supported I'm betting they'll upscale the 'phone' version of Windows to them.
RT is fine for email, browsing, Facebook, basic office - word, excel, PowerPoint.
I have a Surface RT and use it all the time. It's actually my work computer - light and does everything I need.
