The bike I’ve just bought came with a 170mm drop Reverb stealth dropper. Looks the part, nice ergonomic remote but when used the post makes a whining noise.
I’ve sprayed a little suspension lube spray on it and pumped it up and down.
Still noisy?

Is this something that will go in time once used or is the collar too tight/ some other problem?

I've not had that but don't underestimate the power of giving a bleed - even if new - 10min job and seems to fix most issues (IME)

Thanks for replying, I need to shorten the hose so bleeding it could be an option

The newer SKF IFP can make a squeaky/farty noise as they move-hopefully it will break in a bit with use.

Try leaving the post compressed for a while

The SKF ifp makes a funny noise in my reverb. My bike has been standing over winter. When I tried the post last weekend  it was making a very alarming noise.

I left the post compressed for a few hours and when I tried it again the noise was much reduced.
