Struggling a bit with these tyres, find them a bit skittery, and dont seem to grip to anything. What sort of pressures should I be running, or should i have just got the 2.25's, thye doo seem quite narrow.

I preferred my Panaracer Fire XCs apart from the obvious weight saving.

Should I bin/sell them and get something else?

running a 2.25 up front and 2.1 on the rear. Weigh 16.5 stone geared up at the moment and run the rear at 45psi, 38ish psi on the front of a 100mm forked hardtail.

The front definitely digs in better on turns for me, while the 2.1 likes to slide out - its not too bad though*

*thetford conditions only (wet, frozen and dry)

I'd buy a front 2.25 that should last using the both 2.1 rears then try summit else and expand your personal tyre experience.

2.1's are narrow, so do as the other chap suggests, put a bigger one on the front.

I find them better at lower pressures, max 30psi, and they work pretty well tubeless.

schwalbe tyres have a reputation for being quite pressure sensitive, so I'd play around with that a bit before writing them off.

personally, I went for the 2.25's, and run them at a few psi less than the recommended minimum printed on the tyre wall.

I'm about 13st kitted up for the bike, and run the rear at around 38psi, front around 36psi.

I'm pretty happy with them so far, as an 'all-round' tyre. I ride round the Peak's a lot, plus a bit of Trail Centre-ing.

I hear ya dude!

I have tried 2.25s at varying pressures, currently I'm running them at 35psi front and rear, I'm 15 stone in all my kit.

I find them skittish in the wet or dry. Can't really explain it, they seem to 'ping off' rocks, roots and loose stones, squirrel around on hardpack and get clogged up easily in the wet. Not feeling them at all. Should have stuck with my usual high rollers but the NN rolling speed/low weight claims and good reviews tempted me!

Despite what everyone else says, I hated them. That was the 2.1s. One been running Maxxis Advantage 2.1s since and get on much better with them.

Don't drop the pressure too low. 30psi is a minimum. Below that the sidewalls can fold on hard cornering. It cost me a measurable amount of blood to find that out!

Above 30psi I really like them and run them 30psi on the back, 35psi on the front (13.5stone kitted up)

I think the rubber compound sucks big time on rocks. The 2.1s are relatively small. They are horribly pressure sensitive. The sidewalls are made with tissue paper etc. They roll quite fast and give okay mechanical grip on softer ground, but mostly ime, they are expensive rubbish. Maxxis Minion DHFs and Ardents are immeasurably better for me anyway. But that's just my take on them - tyres seem to be quite personal things.

Just got back form a spin with my 2.25 NN on, tubeless stans set up, they felt a bit low and were moving around alot , just checked em and they both were 20 psi , pumped them back up to 35 psi which I normally run. I think Stans Jizz dont like these cold temperatures.

As people have said great all round tyre, im just under 12 stone kitted up.

Tubeless 2.25's here at about 30psi. Skittery when pushed.
