You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
We're off in the camper to Ledbury tonight, so I'll be taking the road bike and heading out tomorrow over the lawless borderlands into Welsh Wales and back. 70 miles-ish, quite hilly, I think I'll enjoy the BBQ tomorrow evening.
Heading into the Beacons (route undecided) on one day, BPW the other to session the new trails. No uplift so will be a gentle day getting used to the new stuff.
I thought you were asking about who had "no riding" this weekend?
I'm not riding for once - too knackered after a few weeks building up to a road race earlier in the week - so going for a 13 mile walk along the Bake Way in Cheshire tomorrow, from Delamere to Chester, with a nice meal in Chester followed by train home - should be a lovely day!
I'm heading north tomorrow to Edinburgh to work the Let's Ride event on Sunday. The plan is to ride at Glentress on Sunday evening then head back to the familiarity of Milton Keynes on Monday.
Seems like you have started one ..😁
North York Moors ..on a route out of Goathland ..thats where they filmed Heartbeat ya know ..might call into the Aidensfield Arms for one after!
Just myself & Colin ..aka barkin mad so far ..
Pics to follow
Small window of opportunity presented itself this afternoon so I drove for 45 minutes for an hour and a half of riding. Sessioned a few lines that had some jumpy bits I felt I needed to get a better handle on. Enjoyed. Won't be riding much at weekend other than a pootle with todller on the weeride seat.

I'm still injured (separated shoulder) but the weather is too nice and I have had a new (to me) frame waiting for it's maiden ride for two weeks. So today I nicked off from work an hour early and had a fairly sedate spin in the sun. Ace.

and it was Wainwrights in a Thwaites Glass
Last year a mate and I planned a two day 160 mile circuit of Leicestershire with an overnight pub/B&B stop that never actually happened.
About a month ago - in the pub, obviously - we decided to have a crack at it in one day on the weekend of the longest day. So that's tomorrow then. 158 miles, 7000 feet of climbing, leaving at 06:00, aiming to be back in the village pub by 22:00.
Wish us luck!
6am this morning glorious

Quick ride round Harden Moor this afternoon.
Saturday I'll be at the Forest of Dean and uplift booked at Bike Park Wales on Sunday.
Nice ride from home over to stanage and back. Took it easy on the plantation as I wasn't wearing pads. Took the cheeky route round the side of redmires which is just great in the dry.

Afternoon off work in the blissful sunshine

saw this fella on this morning ss blast
52 miles today along the Pilgrims way in Kent.
Properly dusty apart from one random mud hole, no water - just sticky, gloopy mud.

Did a couple of local forest rides with the boys.
Local gnarmac loop through rolling fields of mint and lavender. The air was full of scents and sounds, the lanes were empty, the trails were dry and dusty.
Blissful.
planning on an early one locally tomorrow... if I actually wake up in time.
Another evening ride. This time over eastern edges.

@bregante has taken a pic where I often stop for a breather up near Ogden.
I only managed an hour on the road locally tonight, popped down to my best mates grave then just span around for a bit.
out tonight again, 3 nights in a row! ....... along the Cheshire Staffordshire border.
What's going on with those chemtrails, could almost be a pentogram.

Makes you think ...
Ae uplift today. Fantastic day. Last uplift for a while there as the felling is about to start again 😭
Real shame seeing as it just restarted after such a long time off
Did the Mendip Murmuration today. 58km with 1700m of climbing. Legs are a bit tired to say the least..
105 miles of Ridgeway. Tired.
North York Moors ..circular route out of Goathland.
Amazingly dry , desert-like trails which can be a total bogfest after prolonged rain made for a fantastic 27mile ride.
Very few pics as Google Maps on my phone ate the battery getting there ..and Colin on his ebike had me too knackered trying to keep up to want to take them anyway !

Thanks to Colin for leading the ride ..great company as usual ..( to the rest of the group ..you missed a great ride in perfect conditions 😋)
Managed to get the boy out for a quick spin yesterday. Hoping to get out again today, but can't see it happening...

Quick singletrack blast - simply beautiful in summer

A lap of the beast and a bit more at CyB. Third time up there this year. Absolutely love that trail. Fantastic conditions and it was warm and sunny. As I suspected, that bike is very fast when presented with rocks 🙂
Would love to ride today but not going to happen.
After Friday and Saturday riding the road bike till I was blowing out of my arse, this morning was a more pleasant affair around my local trails. Even had chance to stop and make friends ☺️

These "weekend rides" threads are basically an A-Z of people who live in a nicer bit of the country than me.......
theboatman ...crispy duck pancakes this evening then ...yum !
Had friends up to visit us from Kent for the weekend.
Yesterday was a gentle pootle out along the canal then up though New Mills to link up couple of nice descents before stopping at the pub then finishing back along the canal.
This morning was an earlier start over Chinley Churn, out to Rowarth and back via Lantern Pike to Hayfield then another flat return to home via the Sett Valley Way and Peak Forest canal.
Amazing weather and was great to show some friends some of our local trails (am still learning them myself!!).
Went to BPW yesterday to ride the new trails. ACDC and Watt's Occurring are the favourites out of them so far.
Ha d a big ride in the Beacons early this morning, glad I did as it was roasting by the time I finished at 1230!
(see if I can get pictures to work)

Eh? Why two! I give up.
Now it's gone to one!
It was a no riding weekend for me again.
Been off visiting family and on a quest to find a piece of the M25 with more than 2 drivers per mile with any bloody lane discipline.
It was lovely to see the family but the M25 quest was a total bust!
Did my second 60+ miler in three days earlier (first time doing two in one month?), even hotter than Friday, at least today I threw in the odd power segment on what was again a fairly low average speed ride (not that this bothers me, I'm usually focused on my time/power up hills).
Paid for the power segments though, especially the early ~17min one up to the top of Beacon Hill from Swanmore, went through over half my 2l of water within 90mins and had to carefully ration the last few sips to get home.
Two day ride with bivy in the Yorkshire Dales. When I get my photos sorted and uploaded I'll link some here.
Another weekend in the attic for me 😭
Luckily we ran out of milk and I got out for an hour round the lanes on the cx bike, beautiful out.
No pics but went for a JennRide 'lite' (2017 version) in the Lakes. Ran out of legs before I got back to Garburn so had to roady it back to Staveley, but a great long day out overall.

82 miles! 82 miles Martinhutch. in one day. Jesus. Brilliant. 👍👌🚲⛰😍
Managed to get out Thursday and Friday trying out an Ebike. Which was great fun.
Then had the weekend camping in the FoD with a few mates.
Spent Saturday on the uplift bus then cheezybeans kindly showed us round some of the local stuff.
In between getting the camper loaded for today's drive out to the EWS in Austria we managed to get in an early ride over Cutgate yesterday. It was warm and sticky on the climbs but well worth it. Probably the only time up there where I've seen more bikers than walkers. It was the first time I've ever seen MXs up on the top, all ten of them revving it up.
Howgill Loop for me. Tougher than I expected. Will have to go and ride it again before mud returns.
Last year a mate and I planned a two day 160 mile circuit of Leicestershire with an overnight pub/B&B stop that never actually happened.

How did you get on, and any chance of a .gpx of the route?
Thursday was Tarw Du at CYB
Friday we did Penmachno (both loops)
Saturday - back to CYB for Dragon's Back with a Minor Taur chaser
Sunday - Cannock Chase Monkey & FTD on the way home
Fantastic weather
Up at 5.20am yesterday and out the door at 6. Had to curtail ride a bit compared to planned due to being needed at home but still managed about 50km with 1000m of climbing and home by just gone nine. One of the most relaxing rides I've had in ages, nice and cruisy, everywhere was pretty quiet, lovely light in the woods. Pleased I got out early too as I was feeling the heat climbing in the open at about 0730!
First off dipped into some local woods:
Bit of cheeky coastal path..
Some quiet lanes and open moor:
then back into some more woods..
Just got a couple of hours in the woods chasing my eldest...it was ace!
I'm intolerant to sunlight, so even loading up on sunscreen it's have been daft for me to ride in the day yesterday. I waited until 2000 and got an hour in round Saddleworth on the road bike. I'm going to do the same tonight, I reckon.
More crossing chemtrails from ferrals post which are similar to mine. Do you think they're responsible for all the nice weather? Makes you think.
More crossing chemtrails from ferrals post which are similar to mine.
Nah, just a couple of pilots playing noughts and crosses 🙂
Spent the weekend in Aviemore riding Burnside, Laggan & Feshie. No contrails from the gliders that were out....

The other side of the hill from yetiman...
I spent three days chasing four DofE groups around - two silver, two gold - on some of the hottest days I have ever had on Scottish hills. Geldie was pure melting hot on Sunday, Corrour was magnificent and the pine woods around Marr Lodge felt like the south of France to day.
A good few miles on foot or bike - nice to camp in one spot (white bridge) and be able to just zip around as needed.

Had probably my best MTB ride ever. Late Saturday from Abergavenny to Pen Trumau in the Black mountains, wild camp, then on to Llangors mtb route, Allt yr Esgair, then the Gap Road, then trundle to Crickhowell to meet the family. 60 miles all in, 7000ft of climbing, stunning weather and landscape. Loved every minute.

NBT and I rode for 22 miles in the White Peak. 5 dales ride. The single track sections were bliss. Even the rideable uppy bits were enjoyable.
Dust I tell you, brilliant.
Naughty girl that I am didn't drink enough and ran out of water at the end. Have taken until now to recover.
Seriously riders, if you can get out to the White Peak atm, take this opportunity with the dry trails. It's brilliant.
OK, some shots from the weekend
Heading down to Newby Head from the Cam High Road

Getting the bivy sorted - Wild Boar Fell behind

Moon's up!

The Water Cut

In front of Cautely Spout

Heading towards Sedbergh

Heading up on to Great Wold (Whernside)

That's a nice route, Bob. Surprised you didn't get woken up by a load of 4x4s, if that's where I think it is.
Was thinking of doing Bowderdale this week. Is that the main BW return to Sedbergh, and how overgrown is it really?
We were about halfway between Hell Gill and The Water Cut. The track is being "repaired" - basically filling in the two wheel slots with hardcore, you can see this in the shot of the bivy. A bit loose at the moment but it will bed in quite quickly. I didn't think 4x4s were allowed on there, might be wrong, I didn't look for a restriction sign.
The BW between Cautley and Sedbergh is fine, the bracken isn't too high, the shot is looking across the path so you can't see it. We didn't do the bit between Adamthwaite and Cautley as we didn't fancy doing that bit of road climb for not a lot of gain so just headed down the main road to Cautley and crossed via the footbridge.
Yep, that bit's open to 4x4s. Was quite funny to spin past a load of them on the grass at a princely 4mph last time I was up there as they were stuck crawling through the deep ruts. They didn't look happy.
I presume you started from Ribblehead-ish - what was the total mileage and ascent over the two days?
No started from home so to Gargrave - Bell Busk - Airton - Calton - Weets Top - Mastiles - Malham Tarn - Helwith Bridge - Horton - picked up PBW at Calf Holes and followed it to the end, down to Cautley - Sedbergh - Dent - Ribblehead - Selside - Sulber Nick - Wharfe - Feizor - Settle - Otterburn - Bell Busk - Gargrave and home.
85km with 1800m of ascent on the first day, 98km with 1800m of ascent on Sunday
Good effort.
