Just for anyone who is looking for a new roadie light: I bought this one just before Christmas, but a few injuries prevented me from really giving it a good testing. However, tonight I managed to get out for a short ride and it certainly impressed.
I mainly ride on dark country lanes and busy roads, and even on the medium setting, it was more than enough to dodge potholes on pitch black roads at speed. The max setting is superb.
The beam is focused, but still manages to light up the whole of the road and the verge either side.
The unit is a decent size, feels robust, and easy to fit.

I haven't used it off road, and most likely won't, but can certainly recommend it for roadie use.
