Hi
I am thinking about scratching my ROS itch.
Obviously, it is ridiculously expensive but it is likely to be a lifer so money well spent.
I have a couple of concerns...
Tyre clearance, I like to run pretty high volume rubber, i'm thinking 2.35 Schwalbe rubber, Rock Razor in the summer and Hans Dampf in the winter.... will they fit?
That clever bottom bracket thingy.... does it cause any problems, like creaking or does it need replacing every 10 minutes etc?
Any general feed back would be good too.... preferably constructive but the i've got one and it is amazing stuff is good too.
Cheapest prices on a medium steel forge would be nice too.
Thanks.

Test ride one; the local niner dealer was very helpful re arranging one when I spoke to them. That said a local guy was very kind to let me have a go on his xl which, on paper, was the right size for me. Whilst it rode nicely it just felt too high at the front end for me when things got tight and twisty. Almost like it was fighting back when trying to push the front end round the corner. I might have been better on the large but then that appears to come up quite short for me. Anyway, ended up with a 2Souls Quarterhorse. Also worth looking at the Chromag Surface if you're not fussed about ss.
Tyre clearance - the one I rode had a hans dampf with flows and there was plenty of clearance, even for winter clag.
I did a lot of digging around at the time and couldn't find anyone moaning about the niner eccentric. They used to have issues with creaking I believe but not so in the new version. Never had any problems with the eccentric on my Jones and that works in a similar way.
Have a look on mtbr, there's a gigantasaurus Ros 9 thread on there I think.
Thanks for that.... forgot to look on Mtbr... I should know better!
Owned one now for about three months.
So far I've had a 2.2 spez purgatory and currently a 2.3 spez slaughter on the back. Plenty of clearance below the seatstay bridge and ok clearance either side.
Bottom bracket - no problems with mine. Seem to recall the shop saying you needed to follow the niner instructions to the letter, but neither mine or the others they have built have had any problems.
Generally a very nice bike to ride - i was a little confused looking at the sizing of a medium compared to medium rallon and stumpjumper of previous but medium fits me well at 5'9".
Its now my preferred bike for most my riding.
Bachebrothers, lye, Stourbridge have a silver model built up - think it's a medium.
