You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
If so, any feedback on the ride etc? I was sort of entertaining fantasies of getting one, fitting the fattest pair of tyres I could and using it for the road, plus fire road, easy singletrack duties.
It will not replace a road bike, nor my HT so in the spirit of n+1 it will fill a non existent gap in my bike range but is nevertheless, an essential 'want'!
I bought one at the tail end of the year as a cx/adventure/winter road bike. Really nicely finished and has mounts for proper guards. So far its not ventured far off road seeing mainly winter road miles on the broken up back roads in my area. Its stiff under foot and i think it will need bigger (40c) tyres for longer off road days but theres tonnes of tyre clearance so that's not a problem. Currently on Schwalbe 28c tubeless road tyres and its actually a surprising good road bike.
Temptation grows......
Really like mine, I run mine with an eccentric bottom bracket and use it for single speed cyclocross, which it has done superbly all season. Good the clearance, happily takes a 33 the and would go to to the quoted 40. Ride is excellent, fork doesn't flutter under braking, and finish has been good.
Love mine. Rode it during winter as a cross bike with 35c tyres and then put 28c road tyres on it a few weeks ago for the Tour of Flanders sportive. Now that's done it's about to get 40c 'gravel' tyres for the summer.
It handles a bit slowly for a road bike but is impressive off road and seems to take everything in its stride.
If you've got the budget for the Niner, how's about this new Open...
Liking the look of that a lot.
Edit... ah sorry, thought the RLT was the BSB. Open may be a bit over budget.
