Thank you Brant.....I think 😉

So Shedfire will be making a similar style?

If you need a 100kg rider to test a pair I would be more than happy 😉 I'd even ditch the dinner plate front disk for something smaller.....!

Ragley (I think) will have a carbon fork in early Autumn. It might get moved to another brand (maybe), but at the moment it's a Ragley product.

440, 455 and 470mm options, with long or short fork rake.

Full carbon inc steerer

No weight or disc rotor limit

Forward facing 9mm and 15mm through axle dropout options (in some models).

Full carbon forks aren't cheap. But we spent time thinking and at least nailed the tooling and construction so that we could several sizes from one tool.

I would hope we would be the most competitive full carbon fork out there. And that's coupled with pretty smart construction (we'll be using kevlar wraps as we do on our "Wiser" and Carnegie carbon bars - http://www.shedfire.com/2010/06/03/ragley-wiser-carbon-riser-bars/

And like the bars, we'll do them in a wabi-sabi "raw" finish and painted options.

looking forward to seeing these Brant. And Im taken by that raw finish on the wiser bars on the shedfire site. Would look good matched to some forks.

I love the niner forks, they look fantastic but are eye-wateringly expensive.

interesting to see the tooling on that carbon fork "mold" i bet that's not cheap to machine and design, need to sell a few to recoup that

johnclimber kept bugging me, and production was a bit late, so I sent him a set.

fact of the day - according to the tests, carbon bars flex about three times as much as alloy ones.

Tooling looks v clever/simple. You wouldn't want to drop it on your foot though.

I can't believe that no one's asking the all important question. Brant, will your all carbon forks look as nice as the Niner ones? Surely that's all that matters?

I've got a set of the Niner forks - really nice, and scary light (though reassuringly tough thus far....).

If you're planning a 69'er build on a 26" frame they might be a bit long (unless the frame is designed for long travel susp forks.

Brant's 440 option sounds good (assuming it has clearance for a 29x2.2ish tyre) for a more conventional 70/73 frame based on 100ish forks.

this is interesting,
the short 440mm forks brant.....would they also allow my cx frame to run a disc upfront with a 700c wheel and cable pull disc brake?

how heavy is it going to be?
cheers

Yep by the time he realises that they're not going to go away everyone else will have the market share...

Trigon fork with a skinny 2.1" Continental 29er tyre - a 2.35" RR rubs.

I'm thinking of repurposing this fork for my road bike. With a 2" Big Apple on the front (2.35 BA doesn't fit either) it should be capable of handling anything our roads can throw at it, and pretty handy on any convenient fire roads.

im an idiot its 445 want not 425 .....

tried 490s on the ragley - doesnt work , tried 450s (with a fat wheel) and that worked well - would say it was better than with the 445s - ive heard some folk say 465s work well on the frame too - currently got 440 steel forks on

id like to try a set of 470s before i go and buy niner forks - could be an expensive mistake but the wait for these babys is killing me ! - althought probably another 3 months before i need them at this rate 😀
